My Pregnancy Story
When my husband, Dan and I got married we wanted to start a family right away. After 6 months of trying we hadn’t seen any success. I know that many try for much longer without success and I wanted to reach out to my Dr. to see if there was anything that we needed to do to help us on our journey. A bit of blood testing was done on my end and everything showed I was healthy.
While I was at a friend’s house sharing my story, she suggested that I try Reiki. She had learned how to practice and briefly explained that it is the God energy transmuted through the Reiki Healer and out their hands as they hold space for the recipients energy to shift out the old and into a higher vibration. I said I was willing to try anything and was excited to have her work on me.
I laid with my head in her lap, with her hands on my head. I suddenly felt warmth and calm coming from her hands. I began to see beautiful swirling colors in my minds-eye, I was giggling, and surprised with how much I was experiencing. While she worked, she saw 2 boys playing and one had curly hair. She said it was so vivid and beautiful. After the session I felt calm and refreshed and very intrigued with the entire experience.
The next month, I was pregnant with my now 7-year-old. At the time I had no idea how the reiki session helped, and I didn’t care. Now looking back, I realize that I had shifted out of old energy patterns that were holding me back from obtaining my soul purpose.
While pregnant I decided that needed to learn how to also practice Reiki, I searched for weeks trying to find a place where I could learn and finally finding a local yoga studio that offered the class. My first class was powerful, I remember feeling like I needed to know all about energy and holistic healing. It was as if these flood gates were opened and God was continuing to show me life’s amazing beauty. While pregnant I received 2 of the 3 classes and received my Master Teacher lever just after Xavier was born.
I used Reiki while pregnant to help the anxiety and stress that came with being considered high risk, I used it to alleviate the constant pain in my body, and I used it to help others shift. I also used it to connect to my unborn child and surround him with love and peace. It was such beautiful tool that God gifted me, and I will be forever grateful. Without Reiki before, during and after my pregnancy I do not think that I would be the person I have evolved to now.

What is Reiki?Reiki is an ancient energy healing modality to support wellness of your mind, body, and spirit. Your body tells a story through its energy, the practitioner acts as a conduit to facilitate the God energy and allow it to flow to you, filling your space with love + light. Your body releases energy, thoughts and emotions that are no longer serving you. Most leave the session feelingless pain, more centered, peaceful, lighter and have a sense of clarity on life.

What does a first Reiki session look like?Experienced Toledo Reiki instructors always start with a discussion of where you are on your journey right now and what you are currently working on. During the healing session Rebecca will verbally guide you with what she is intuitively noticing and how to best support your shifting. She will relay messages from your physical and etherical energetic space while working directly with each of your chakra centers, explaining where and what they are and how you can best show up in those spaces. This session is very informational about your energetic space and how you can reclaim your power. You do the healing with the Reiki energy as the catalyst, and Rebecca provides a safe and nonjudgmental container for you to release what is no longer serving your highest self.

How can I prepare before and after a reiki session?Before Your Reiki Session: You will be laying down for the majority of your session, comfort is key to being open. Be sure you are wearing comfortable clothes. Suggesting to wear or bring socks since shoes are removed during the session and the feet might get cold. Hydrate to facilitate the energy shift, we are made of primary and this is helpful. You’ll also want to use the restroom before the session. If the position you are in for your session is uncomfortable in any way, communicate this to your practitioner, as they will also want to be sure you are as relaxed as possible. After Your Reiki Session: It’s important to hydrate after doing any type of energy work. Be sure to drink 1-2 glasses of water after your session. Adding electrolytes to your water is also a good idea, as it helps to replenish the body. It’s often helpful to spend some time after the session reflecting—whether that means journaling, drawing, or somehow capturing any insights you had during the experience. You may also decide to meditate afterward or listen to calming and/or inspirational music. Whatever you choose to do, find an activity that helps you connect to what you've experienced so you can draw on it in future. Contact your practitioner if challenges arise. Reiki is extremely gentle and yet, since energy blockages are being cleared in the body during a session, discomfort can arise. Contact your practitioner and get in touch if anything feels physically or emotionally painful after your session.

What is Spiritual Mentorship?It is a journey of spiritual growth and discipline where you are guided inward to learn more about your inner truths, wisdom, direction + true authentic self. The work is to help discover and connect with your own inner knowing, guide you on how to follow your life map, assist with clearing and healing whatever stands in the way of happiness, peace, health, love and abundant resources.

What makes the Reiki and Spiritual Mentorship package different than a single session?It is in depth healing for the client wanting to unveil radical self-love + acceptance, while shifting and releasing self-limiting beliefs and behaviors. This session is a part of a 6 month plan to hold accountability to your healing and self-growth. With Rebecca in these sessions, you will be provided a safe space to peel apart your layers and dig deep into who you are and how you show up in life. Just like an Intuitive Reiki Session we will start with where you are on your journey right now and what you are currently working on. We will then analyze how you are showing up, what the key components and characteristics are that you are working with and come up with an intention for the energy healing session and thereafter. Ending with a discussion of how you are feeling, if you feel more clear in your life path and how you can be accountable to your healing journey by advising a specific plan and main focus as you step into your life, finding the best support to your growth and healing. Spirituality is not a sometimes work, we don't fit it in. It is literally every minute of every day and how you are living in your essence. In these next 6 months you will be doing the deep work to enhance your life, embracing each moment with gratitude, and remembering who you truly are under the layers in which you show up. By utilizing the full 90 minute session, we have ample time, flexibility and the ability to incorporate many different healing modalities to tap into your fullest potential, releasing the energy that is no longer serving your highest self and taking back your power.

Why is a Healing Package important and encouraged?Single sessions are fantastic and very helpful to support general maintenance of your wellness. You can receive an abundance of support by only scheduling as needed. A healing package is intended for extended healing support and accountability to your healing progress, while offering you discounted prices on your sessions. Depending on the package that you choose, you can save up to $20 a session. A package also allows you to schedule up to a year in advance to ensure that you are securing your proffered day and time. Spirituality is not a sometimes work, we don't fit it in. It is literally every minute of every day and how you are living in your essence. You will be doing the deep work to enhance your life, embracing each moment with gratitude, and remembering who you truly are under the layers in which you show up through evaluation and acceptance.

It actually never came back in that same way after my first session. I have always been prone to anxiety, so this was extremely helpful to me during my first trimester. This related to big decisions as well as things as small as remembering why I walked into a room to do something. I was able to be present like I never had before. It was amazing!! My daughter is about to be 3 in a couple weeks and all of the transformations I experienced throughout my prenatal and postnatal reiki sessions have stayed with me. The peace, love, joy, clarity, and steadfast connectedness with the universe is still present. Experiencing pregnancy with regular reiki sessions is something that I will recommend for the rest of my life! I can only imagine the benefits by daughter received at the same time. Growing into a mother can be overwhelming. Processing all of the emotions and expectations associated with becoming a mother to another human being can be...challenging. Your sense of responsibility, your limitless love for your little one(s), and the daily uncertainty of each day can send you into an endless quest for solutions to soothe your mind.
Long before Google and Facebook, before the hundreds of contradictory sleep and parenting books, and before everyone had an opinion on whether or not you should XYZ, there was a time when women raised their babies using only their intuition and a village of support from seasoned mothers. Connection and community were and still are imperative.
