Empowered by Nutrition

Eating well hasn’t always come naturally for me. I was asthmatic with horrible digestive issues and always struggled with my weight. As a matter of fact, I began dieting when I was in the 5th grade! As I entered high school, I began to feel the pressure to stay thin. I wanted to be accepted by others and I sent my body on a downward cycle. I suffered with multiple eating disorders that caused my hormones to be unbalanced and I was not eating nourishing or wholesome foods. These decisions ultimately lead me to make the decision between finding a rehabilitation program or taking responsibility for my health and wellbeing. I chose to take control of my life and empowered myself by learning everything I could about nutrition and wellness.

As I regained my health, I became aware of the powerful healing effects of food and wanted to share my knowledge with anyone who would listen. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and my father’s poor eating habits resulted in the development of diabetes. I wanted nothing more than to be able to bring my parents back to health and became more motivated than ever to take all of the steps I could to begin a career that would give me the opportunity to make a positive difference in the health and lives of others. My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. I am a graduate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories; everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, and Paleo, to raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

As the owner of Plants On Tap, I have the unique opportunity to work one-on-one with each client to design healthy snacks that fit their unique goals and dietary needs. Introducing clients to a selection of foods that are satisfying, wholesome, and novel allows clients to remain engaged and excited about making changes that will have a sustainable and positive impact on their health. By offering services such as guided grocery store tours, one-on-one consultations, and kitchen cupboard detoxes, I am able to help clients feel empowered, which maximizes client compliance and increases their chances of healing and maintaining a long-term healthy lifestyle.
