About My Reiki & Intuitive Healing Practice

I wanted to touch base with clarity about Reiki and how I personally practice and teach. I feel that it is so important when looking for Reiki Practioner or Teacher that you are on board with them and understand the process in which they work.

I practice Usui Shiki Ryoho (translates to “Usui System of Natural Healing”). My teaching lineage can be traced back to the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui. The Japanese word Reiki translates to mean life energy.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is the universal energy that connects our higher self with everything around us. It is the life force that connects us to what we need.

All living things are made up of energy. This energy goes by many names such as, ki, chi, prana, soul. Science has confirmed the presence of this energy using tools, such as Kirlian Photography, to capture visual proof.

When you receive a Reiki treatment, you will be fully clothed on a massage table. Healing sessions include both conversation and the Reiki treatment. In conversation, we work together, to explore and uncover aspects of yourself (whether on the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual planes, or some combination of these) that have become imbalanced.

How does Reiki work?

Although Reiki has traditionally been used as a healing system, it is also extremely effective as a way to help individuals increase awareness, insight, wisdom and personal growth.

Our bodies are energetic in nature. Our bones resonate at lower frequencies while our blood and thoughts vibrate at higher frequencies. This magnetic pulse is known as a bio magnetic field.

It has been proven in a number of scientific studies that Reiki and other energy healers produce an electromagnetic (EM) field, heat, and light emissions from their hands when doing healings.

All living beings produce an EM field from the brain, heart, and other areas of the body. Energy healers are able to produce a more consistent and directed EM field. It has been shown in studies that EM energy, whether from an energy healer or from an electronic device, stimulates bodily processes of repair and regeneration.

Reiki practitioners consider the energy to be a frequency of information and insight. This explains why so many who come for Reiki leave the session ready to make much-needed changes in their daily lives. Reiki helps bring about that “aha” moment, and then provides the courage necessary to take the next step. It is the beginning of a mysterious and wonderful journey.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

Reiki may help recipients to relax, bring clarity, and energy. It may relieve physical pain, accelerate natural healing, and stunt progression of disease. Reiki also has the potential to detoxify the body, dissolves energy blockages, and release emotional baggage.

As Reiki increases the vibrational frequency of the body, it helps change negative conditioning & behavior. Some common observations by recipients include: feelings of contentment, decreased feelings of stress and anxiety. In some cases elimination of physical illnesses.

A Reiki healer is trained to balance, cleanse, and boost the energetic system of the body, getting to the root of the problem, an energetic imbalance or block in the body’s energy systems.

Reiki has many of the same effects as massage therapy, such as detoxification and release of tension. Reiki is different from massage, however, in that there is no manipulation; hands are placed on or above the body in various positions, and stay fairly still in each position, until a release in energy and the hands move into the next position.

Some common sensations are warmth or coolness, tingling, pulsing, vibration, twitching, or feelings of extreme relaxation, heaviness, or sleepiness. Often, clients become so relaxed that they fall asleep during the treatment. (My husband almost ALWAYS does!)

I am an energy worker working with Gods energy to help you release what is no longer serving you. It is said that this is the energy that Jesus used when healing.

I do not do the healing, you do. I am just the conduit. I like to explain it as the cord between the appliance (you) and the outlet (God) I facilitate the releasing and receiving. Charging your batteries so to speak.

I think of Reiki as prayer through my hands. I allow the God energy to flow through me to you. Your body tells me a story of where tension and heaviness are stored. Just like you and I can communicate with words, your body communicates to me with feelings. I ask to feel your emotions and heaviness so that it can be moved out.

How do people typically feel after a session?

People sometimes notice physical sensations such as feeling tingling or changes in temperature, seeing colors, feeling light or heavy within the body, feeling sleepy, or relaxed. Others may not feel any sensations at all which is completely normal. Reiki energy can be very powerful and does not need to make its presence known while supporting the receiver on all levels.

After the session you should feel lighter and I separate myself so that I am no longer communicating with your energy.

In today’s fast pace high stress world, Reiki can help bring awareness, stress relief, peace and balance into your life.

Please reach out to me, I am happy to guide you through any questions you might have.

Cheers to Wellness,

Becky
